TIA Supports the Fight Against Human Trafficking with Donation to The Gift of Freedom

Alexandria, VA – May 5, 2025 — The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA), the voice of the $343 billion third-party logistics (3PL) industry, announced a donation to The Gift of Freedom, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending human trafficking and supporting survivors.
This contribution underscores TIA’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and the broader role the logistics industry can play in promoting safety and justice. With traffickers often exploiting transportation networks, TIA believes that 3PL professionals are uniquely positioned to help prevent and disrupt this crime.
“The logistics industry is on the front lines,” said Chris Burroughs, President & CEO of TIA. “By supporting The Gift of Freedom, TIA is using its platform to take a stand—helping protect vulnerable individuals and supporting the heroes working to end this horrible crime.”
The Gift of Freedom provides survivor-led services, emergency resources, and awareness training to communities across the country. TIA’s donation will directly support prevention programs, shelter access, and educational outreach.
“We are deeply grateful to TIA for their generous support and commitment,” said Sharon Siar, Founder of The Gift of Freedom. “Their leadership sends a powerful message: our industry can be a force for protection, not exploitation.”
TIA encourages all logistics professionals to take part in the fight by training their teams, reporting suspicious activity, and supporting survivor resources.
