TIA’s Technovations Day 2 Showcases Emerging Technology for Broker Back Office Success

On Day 2 of TIA’s Technovations attendees were introduced to a number of new products coming out from supply chain suppliers that will assist brokers with their back-office management leading them to more efficiencies and success.

TIA Associate members participating in the Technovator Showcase throughout the day included:

Highway announced a product suite that will help brokers fight fraud by closing the loop holes that bad actors try to infiltrate. The Highway product suite includes Highway for Email to help eliminate phishing emails and stop freight fraud in your inbox; Highway for VoIP to defend against phone fraud and spoofing in brokers communications; and Highway Load Lock, which ensures load-level protection with continuous compliance monitoring.

QUED highlighted its Smart Appointments application that integrates with your current TMS to help cut down 64% in planning time by automatically submitting requests for you. Through AI and machine learning, QUED helps carriers and 3PLs select smarter appointments, reducing wasted time in
the supply chain and improving service levels.

NAVIX offers a hands-free freight audit for your TMS. Navix helps eliminate common business problems for brokers: getting paid on time; building relationships with carriers; better workforce time management; real-time analytics on vendor, customer and internal performance to help correct common errors and increase load volume to help your bottom line without increasing staff.

Vooma uses Generative AI to extract and structure key quote information from your email to provide you full visibility into your revenue opportunity. The company offers two platforms: co-pilot AI and agent AI. Customers can utilize either platform to help manage customer interaction by extracting all core data and adding it directly into your current TMS.

Tai Software is a TMS dedicated to freight brokers. Tai’s TMS provides workflow automation, which helps brokers automate time-consuming tasks for greater back-office efficiencies that will boost your load capacity without increasing your headcount, giving companies a greater profit margin.

Trucker Tools offers load-tracking and carrier sourcing that provides leading brokerages with more than 90% visibility compliance, cross-border tracks, cold-chain monitoring and more. With Trucker Tools, companies can streamline their carrier selection process, embrace good actors and build their trusted carrier network. Trucker Tools Fraud Toolkit helps IP activity detection; IP masking detection; VoIP number detection; custom carrier network; proactive load location verification and geotagged document scanning.

Descartes Macropoint wants to help brokers prevent and monitor fraud. With Descartes FraudGuard, brokers can monitor and validate carrier activity with location data. Descartes recently bolstered its fraud prevention by adding MyCarrierPortal to its offerings, which tightly integrates VIN verification. By integrating more MacroPoint data into MyCarrierPortal, users can instantly access historical lane information from carriers; see real-time equipment information; utilize FraudGuard compliance; track on-time compliance and tracking compliance.

DAT Freight & Analytics launched a network management system to verify carrier identities to help fight fraud. DAT’s fraud detection and prevention components include DAT Verified, a comprehensive data integration and monitoring program to ensure all carriers are authorized to operate; Behavior Anomalies, an advanced analytics that can detect unusual behavioral patterns; Personalized Engagement, where brokers can engage more personally and effectively with carriers to foster strong relationships; Capacity Management, which helps brokers find carriers with the right capabilities for the right loads to reduce deadhead miles and increase overall efficiency; and Personal Networks that help build trusted networks to monitor and send targeted loads.

GUYDLOGISTICS helps brokers monitor temperature-controlled shipments throughout North America. With GUYDLOGISTICS brokers can add trackers to their freight to track and recover lost freight in a timely manner.

McLeod Software promises to maximize the productivity of your TMS by automating routine and common practices, leading to increased productivity by providing full circle management from quote creation to cash application.

TRUCKSTOP has developed tools to mitigate risk and fraud through carrier pre-vetting designed to work everywhere you do using every day digital platforms. TRUCKSTOP’s two-way integration helps carrier RMIS certification status; verify email sender ID; and report a carrier to brokerage compliance teams.

TriumphPay showcased its Payments Network, which is the integration of shippers’, brokers’, factors’ and carriers’ systems of record to enable structured data to verify and pay all parties involved in the transaction. The TriumphPay Network modernizes freight transactions by exchanging real-time, structured data to improve operational efficiency; automate secure payments; improve operational visibility into payments; reduce risk and fight fraud.

Wize Load offers a comprehensive suite of tools for brokers including Wize Load Rate; Wize Load Broker and Wize Load Driver. Wize Rate can generate accurate, real-time quotes on open deck and over-dimensional freight. Accessible from anywhere, Wize Rate is much more than a tool, it ensures that every logistical challenge is met with precision and care. Wize Broker offers users a custom list of fit carriers that are ranked based on load requirements. Wize Driver is an app that shows you loads catered to your specialized equipment and locations, enabling real time quotes.

Allianz Trade is revolutionizing credit management systems by leveraging credit insurance to modernize and scale the credit process, which can be done with your current TMS. With Allianz Trade API, companies can identify companies, create new companies and retrieve reference data; request and get real-time grade information; request and monitor credit limits in real time; report late payments; file a claim and retrieve status updates and get a complete overview of your policy information.

Drumkit.ai let’s brokers set it and forget it! Drumkit is a virtual employee that takes over the mundane actions so your team can spend its time focusing on relationships with your partners. Drumkit helps with every step of the load cycle by handling all the load information right in your inbox and helps you respond with carrier rates in seconds; auto-drafts smart replies and updates; builds loads into your TMS; books appointments with one click and runs track and trace on each load in the background. It is an integration tool to enhance your TMS; quoting and carrier verification; scheduling and track and trace programs.

Bear Cognition is an intelligent supply chain platform that helps you eliminate the “no joy” work. Bear Cognition develops microservices and modules based on your specific needs to reduce manual processes and improve overall efficiency. Bear Cognition helps brokers with carrier performance analysis; multi-mode visibility; billing reconciliation and demand forecasting.

TRANSFLO’s WORKFLOW AI will help brokers with their back-office management. Through its platform, TRANSFLO’s AI and automation can improve billing speed, cash flow, DSO & DPO, data-extraction accuracy. billing accuracy and carrier payments speed. It can also help prevent fraud by rejecting duplicate invoice payments.

Transfix launched its Transfix Suite that includes AutoBid, which enables users to analyze and quote up to an average of 1 million lanes annually; AutoAccept/Reject helps brokers efficiently stay within shipper KPI while maximizing margins; AutoSched enables brokers to manage appointments schedule to optimize carrier negotiations; and AutoValidate helps lower the risk of missing information by letting GenAi do all the work. Attendees also were introduced to Transfix’s Data Solutions Suite which included broker cost solutions, margin optimizers and carrier buying solutions, all of which can be accessed throught he Transfix Carrier App.

Revenova offers brokers a multimodal TMS on Salesforce.com, which comes equipped with tools for pricing, negotiation, carrier engagement and load tracking. Its platform integrates with LaneIQ, a proprietary lane-by-lane analysis tool that provides historical customer and carrier quotes for specific lanes to help brokers make the most informed decisions. Revenova’s broker TMS also incorporates numerous automated functions, including the ability to send out automated quote requests with detailed load information and tender quotes to certain carriers.

When not meeting with Technovators, attendees were attending education sessions focused on how to use technology to enhance your business whether during feast or famine times in the industry as well as how to integrate technology smartly into their current company systems.

Attendees also heard from Bryce Austin, CEO of TCE Strategy, on the importance of having strong cyber security practices to protect their company from ransomware and other fraud attacks.

Day 3 will see QUED, HappyRobot, Drumkit.ai and FrontApp compete for the bragging rights of being named the 2024 Technovations Shark Tank winner. We will also find out who is TIA’s Technovator of the Year.
