TIA, Avalon Announce Trimester 1 2025 CTB Scholarship Winners
The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) and Avalon Risk Management congratulate Eugene Vichkov, NBC, owner of Dells Transfer in Baraboo, Wis., and David Regnier, head of Operations at Run Freight Corp. in Palatine, Ill., for receiving the trimester 1 2025 Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) certification scholarship.
“TIA appreciates the investment that Avalon has made in our CTB certification,” said Chris Burroughs, president & CEO of TIA. “Providing scholarships for the industry’s highest designation ensures that brokers have the resources needed to dedicate to earning their CTB.”
The CTB is the third-party logistics industry’s most widely recognized designation and is earned after a rigorous four-month course and comprehensive examination. CTB program sponsor Avalon offers two scholarships for each trimester.
“Avalon Risk Management is committed to supporting the TIA in its mission of being a leader in delivering exceptional resources and education to the 3PL community,” said Lisa Vranich, Avalon’s vice president of Sales & Marketing. “We recognize that ongoing learning and professional growth are vital for success in today’s dynamic business landscape. We are excited to offer two scholarships for TIA’s CTB Program to further this commitment. By supporting this initiative, we aim to foster the development and success of talented individuals within the 3PL industry.”
In applying for the scholarship, Vichkov said that receiving the scholarship will provide essential financial support, while the CTB Course will equip me with the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve his career goals.
“Participating in the CTB Course will enhance my understanding of critical concepts and best practices in the field,” Vichkov said. “The knowledge gained will empower me to approach challenges with confidence and creativity, positioning me as a more competent professional. This growth will not only benefit my personal career but also allow me to contribute positively to my workplace and community, driving innovation and improvement.”
Regnier said in his application that he was eager to earn his CTB for three key reasons: to deepen his knowledge of industry operations, enhance his leadership skills, and contribute to the growth and innovation of the logistics sector.
“I want to ensure I remain proactive in applying the latest knowledge and skills to manage complex projects and improve efficiencies,” said Regnier. “This course will enable me to make well-informed decisions and strengthen my ability to navigate the intricate relationships between brokers, shippers, and carriers.”
