TIA Announces Latest Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) Graduates, Strengthening the Future of the 3PL Industry

Alexandria, VA — May 13, 2026 — The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) today announced the newest class of professionals to earn the Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) designation, the industry’s leading credential for expertise in freight brokerage and third-party logistics.

The CTB program continues to serve as a benchmark for professionalism in the 3PL sector, equipping brokers with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate an increasingly complex freight environment.

“TIA’s CTB graduates represent the next generation of leadership in the 3PL industry,” said Chris Burroughs, President & CEO of TIA. “Earning this certification demonstrates not only a deep understanding of the business, but a commitment to operating with integrity, professionalism, and a long-term view of success in a rapidly evolving supply chain landscape.”

The CTB designation is awarded following completion of a rigorous four-month program and comprehensive examination covering essential areas including legal compliance, operations, finance, and sales. The program is designed to help brokers strengthen decision-making, improve operational performance, and better serve customers and partners.

As the freight market continues to face challenges ranging from volatility to increased fraud and security risks, the importance of well-trained, knowledgeable professionals has never been greater.

“Today’s logistics professionals are expected to do more than move freight—they are problem-solvers, risk managers, and critical partners in the supply chain,” Burroughs added. “The CTB program helps ensure they are prepared to meet those expectations.”

The CTB program, sponsored by Avalon Risk Management, is widely recognized across the industry as a mark of excellence and a commitment to continuous professional development.
